 Bonjour,

It was another great week in grade 5!

ELA: We are finishing writing our short story. The students who are not able to finish writing their good copy in class by the end of Monday will take it home to be completed as homework.

Math: We are continuing to learn about decimal numbers and fractions. Supplementary activities have been posted in Google Classroom for students who would like extra practice.

FLA: Our book study is going well. One more week of work and we will finally be ready to start preparing our presentations.

Social Studies: We have learned about Louis Riel and his contribution to the preservation of the Metis people rights and culture in Canada. The students have chosen one person who fought for a cause and will research what their person did to help make the world a better place. We will end this project by comparing the life and contributions of Louis Riel with the life of their person of choice.

Science: Our study of electricity is going well and I see a lot of interest, enthusiasm and curiosity from the students. I am not telling you what we are doing, it is a surprise! The students will take their project home sometime next week to show you!

Looking ahead...

February 22-March 3: Show and tell presentations. Specific date in students' agenda.

February 24: Good copy of English short story due.

February 24: Pink Shirt Day

March 2: Picture day

March 8-11: Francophone week

March 9: Concours d'épellation (spelling bee) - Optional

Have a great weekend,

Mme Richard

  1. Hello Mme Richard
Thanks for your hardworking and dedication to my son Sepand education
I hope he is doing good and working hard in the class.
regard to show and tell presentation I asked him to memorize what he want to say. That was the reason he didn't made notes for his presentation
I wonder if you can give him another chance to do show and tell to improve his mark
I feel guilty regard his Mark
    Thanks
    Javid
