 Happy Friday!

Announcements:

- I will update Power School with grades and comments this weekend. Please take a moment next week to look at your child's progress and let me know if you have any question. Please sign and return the green evaluation folder on Tuesday if not already done.

- Students who did not finish their map of Canada will need to complete it at home next week. This is due on Friday, October 16.

-Students should read at home for a minimum of 15 minutes daily. I would encourage them to alternate between French and English books. Reading daily helps improve reading skills, boosts vocabulary and literacy skills and improves writing skills.

- We are starting our new unit on multiplication and division. This week, students need to practice their  multiplication tables of 1, 2, 3. They should also learn the corresponding divisions at the same time. Ex: 2x3=6, 3x2=6, 6/2=3, 6/3=2

-Google Classroom is now updated daily as there are more students absent and for longer periods of time. In order to not fall behind, students are responsible for completing all assignments (to the best of their abilities in these circumstances) and submit them to me when they return to school.

-For daily announcements and homework, please check your child's agenda.

-The library is open! This year, students will be able to borrow books from the library by ordering their books online, thanks to Mrs Fitz! There will be no class time to order books; students should do this at home. Here is the link to order your library books:

Moreover, the book needs to travel to and from home everyday, as we are using it in class. The reading part is done exclusively at home. 2) This project will be done on a tri-fold. The small size is available at Dollarama for $2. For students that choose not to purchase one, they will be able to complete the project on paper folders. I will provide them for the students. 3) Our francophone week will be help from March 8-11. Many activities will be offered to students to celebrate the French language and culture. On March 8, a food truck will be offering beaver tails ($7), poutine ($5) and soft drinks ($1).  Happy Friday! We worked hard and learned a lot in grade 5 this week! Announcements: -Evaluation folder was sent home. Please sign the yellow page, remove all assignments and return the folder with only the signed page. I will send the folder home monthly so you can see what your child has been working on and their progress throughout the year. -Some parents have been asking for supplementary activities, worksheets, websites, etc to help support their children in numeracy and literacy.  I will occasionally add a ''Supplementary Activities'' category in Google Classroom to offer learning activities that your child can work on should they require extra practice. -We will be starting a Science project and students are asked to bring any art supply they can find around the house: tissue paper, pipe cleaners, buttons, yarn, beads, etc. If they can have it for Monday, that would be great! I will have limited supplies available to students who don't have any. Thanks in adv...

Bonjour! March 19: pyjama day French presentations next week. Make sure you are well prepared before your presentation date. We are starting building our houses in Science. A cardboard box is needed for Monday. Other materials needed could include but are not limited to: 2 D batteries, hot glue sticks, other rigid pieces of cardboard, electrical tape, aluminum foil, etc... Students need to bring an extra mask in their backpack. After playing outside, the mask becomes wet and it would be important that all students have a spare one available. Enjoy the weekend!
