 Happy Friday!

We worked hard and learned a lot in grade 5 this week!

Announcements:

-Evaluation folder was sent home. Please sign the yellow page, remove all assignments and return the folder with only the signed page. I will send the folder home monthly so you can see what your child has been working on and their progress throughout the year.

-Some parents have been asking for supplementary activities, worksheets, websites, etc to help support their children in numeracy and literacy.  I will occasionally add a ''Supplementary Activities'' category in Google Classroom to offer learning activities that your child can work on should they require extra practice.

-We will be starting a Science project and students are asked to bring any art supply they can find around the house: tissue paper, pipe cleaners, buttons, yarn, beads, etc. If they can have it for Monday, that would be great! I will have limited supplies available to students who don't have any. Thanks in advance!

-The library is open! This year, students will be able to borrow books from the library by ordering their books online, thanks to Mrs Fitz! There will be no class time to order books; students should do this at home. Here is the link to order your library books:

The students who are not able to finish writing their good copy in class by the end of Monday will take it home to be completed as homework. Math: We are continuing to learn about decimal numbers and fractions. Supplementary activities have been posted in Google Classroom for students who would like extra practice.  FLA: Our book study is going well. One more week of work and we will finally be ready to start preparing our presentations. Social Studies: We have learned about Louis Riel and his contribution to the preservation of the Metis people rights and culture in Canada.
