Dear families, I am so happy to finally be back at school after a long month away. I know the students were in good hands and accomplished and learned a lot during my leave.  We are already approaching the end of our journey together in grade 5. It is incredible how time flies! Looking ahead: -Science test on chemistry will be on Wednesday, June 16. We will prepare in class but students are encouraged to bring their notes home to study. -Please check around the house for any class / library books. Next week, we would appreciate that all books be returned to school. Thank you for your help with this. - The green folder with evaluations will be sent home on Friday the 18th. There is no need to sign and return the folder. If you have any question on any of those evaluations / assignments, please feel free to contact me. -Many grades have been entered into Power School. You are encouraged to take a look and contact me if you have questions / concerns regarding your child's progress. E

We got to collect invertebrates from the wetland and identify them, we participated in a photo rally, we did some creative writing & sketching and experienced a sharing circle.  Looking ahead, the unit test on the Arctic region will be on Tuesday. Students should prepare by bringing their study guide home and making sure they understand the concepts. Next week, we are starting learning about algebra in Math. In Science, we will continue talking about the states of matter in chemistry. Our focus in FLA will be around oral French during the month of May. In ELA, we will continue reading Wonder by R.J.  Bonjour!   Today was wellness day. After a short online assembly, we learned about growth mindset. We then had a chance to play some kick ball, we had tea while working on some calm activities such as chess, tangrams, and mandalas, we did a mindfulness meditation, we went out on a walk, we tried some brain gym and we ended with a reflection on our learning. I am looking forward to continue our conversations next week! Have a nice and relaxing weekend!   Mme Richard

Bonjour! March 19: pyjama day French presentations next week. Make sure you are well prepared before your presentation date. We are starting building our houses in Science. A cardboard box is needed for Monday. Other materials needed could include but are not limited to: 2 D batteries, hot glue sticks, other rigid pieces of cardboard, electrical tape, aluminum foil, etc... Students need to bring an extra mask in their backpack. After playing outside, the mask becomes wet and it would be important that all students have a spare one available. Enjoy the weekend!
